Heard all about climate change and now want to do something about it?
The aim of this conference is to draw together a wide range of organisations in the community, businesses, parish councils, schools and other groups, and show them how they can play a part in reducing the environmental impact of the district.
Real case studies will be presented by local businesses and organisations who have already had success in reducing their own environmental impact.
Among the issues which will be covered are:
- Saving money through environmental improvements
- Waste minimisation
- Local sourcing and procurement
- Energy efficiency and renewables
It is hoped that the outcome of the conference will be the development of innovative ways of reducing our local carbon footprint through sharing ideas and experiences, working together, and accessing appropriate expertise and support. The long-term aim is to establish a district-wide carbon reduction strategy involving the greatest possible number of stakeholders.
