Postal Ballot Papers
A discrepancy has been identified in a small number of postal ballot papers issued to voters in the Saffron Walden and Stansted areas yesterday (12 April)
Some papers have serial numbers that do not match the number on their accompanying security statement.
The council is posting letters today (13 April) to postal voters in Stansted and Saffron Walden who have been affected, explaining exactly what to do. New postal ballot papers will be issued to affected residents early next week.
It is important that residents with postal votes check the numbers on their paper and security statement match before returning their votes. If the numbers do not match and you have not received a letter by Tuesday morning (18 April) you should ring the council on 01799 510510 and ask to speak to Electoral Services.
If the two numbers match, you do not need to do anything except vote as usual.
The council apologises for this error and any inconvenience caused.
