Bridge End Garden Restoration Manager John Bosworth said: "The 2008 launch event organised by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors on Friday (21 September) was very successful. The Garden really is a beautiful environment in which to hold such events, particularly if the weather holds and is a resource that should be used more.
"Talking of garden staff I wish to echo the chairman's comments in respect to the hard work put in by Mark Ropkins, Dan Walker and their team of volunteers. The garden looked enchanting and I know what efforts are needed to present it so well. So thank you all very much not only for your efforts over the last week but throughout the whole year."
UDC vice chairman Cllr Mark Lemon said:
"Bridge End Garden is managed and supported by UDC. The community spirit is one the most important aspects and has brought together numerous groups within the district and made it such a success. We'd like to say a big thank you to the staff and particularly the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the Garden in tip top condition which has enabled the Garden to reach next month's international final of this award scheme."
