Planning applications are published in several different ways. All applications made are shown on the "Weekly List of Planning Applications and Associated Matters" which is available on the planning home page of this site and in hard copy at the Planning Information Desk, at our Community Information Centres,  via  Town and Parish Council and by subscription. The lists of Planning Applications received and Application Search on the left hand side of the screen can also be used to view this. These are updated daily.

The Council notifies in writing immediate neighbours when new applications are  received and some applications are published in the Local Press and have site notices. Below is a list of the types of applications published the local press and on site notices:

  • Application for Listed Building Consent
  • Development affecting the Character or Appearance of a Conservation Area
  • Development affecting the setting of a Listed Building
  • Major Development
  • Development likely to be of Wide Concern
  • Development affecting a Public Right of Way
  • Departure from Development Plan
  • Application for Conservation Area Consent
  • Environmental Assessment

The advertisement list on the left hand side of this page shows applications which have been advertised and are still in the consultation period.

Comments on applications should be received within 21 days of acceptance of the application or of the date it was published - the milestone dates shown when viewing applications on line show the date by when comments should received, as do letters sent out, site and newspapers notices.

Comments can be made direct from this site when viewing applications, by email to planning@uttlesford.gov.uk, and in writing to The Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden, Essex CB11 4ER.
