BAA has submitted an application for planning permission to vary/remove conditions attached to its previous planning permission which allow a passenger throughput of 25million passengers per annum (mppa). The Planning Application number is UTT/0717/06/FUL
BAA is applying to remove the 25mppa throughput limit condition, and to vary the condition limiting air transport movements from 241,000 to 264,000 each year. The purpose of the application is to allow more intensive use of the existing runway. The application is not for a second runway or for any facilities associated with a second runway.
The application will be considered at a series of special meetings of the Council's Development Control Committee which will be set up to look at the scope of the application, to examine the issues and to hear public representations. It is anticipated that a final recommendation on how the application should be determined will be put to the Committee meeting on 27 September 2006.

Representations should be received by 30th June 2006.
