Walks and Walking Routes

Uttlesford boasts a wide variety of walks to suit all tastes and abilities and as the landscape is still primarily rural, there is a well-developed network of cross country footpaths. Try anything from a stroll around historic Clavering and Arkesden, to a saunter along the banks of the River Chelmer or even the 'Horseshoes Hike', a walk taking in Duton Hill, Great Easton and many of the villages affected by the proposed expansion at Stansted Airport.

The Tourist Information Centre in Saffron Walden has a large selection of books and leaflets offering details of walks in the area and are happy to advise on suggested routes.

Visit our 'Walks in Uttlesford' page which contains some suggested walks and links to other sites of interest.
