Apply to be an on-call firefighter
Do you live or work within 5 minutes of an on-call fire station? If so, you could be paid to protect your community as an on-call firefighter.
Essex County Fire & Rescue Service have launched a campaign to recruit on-call firefighters for stations in our area.
They're particularly looking for people to join the stations in:
- Leaden Roding
- Thaxted
- Newport
- Dunmow
- Stansted
Main duties
On-call firefighters have everyday lives and jobs outside of the fire service and are paid to respond to incidents in their community.
It could be a house fire, a road traffic collision or even a water rescue - on-call firefighters are trained to respond to a variety of incidents.
