Walking in Uttlesford

Walking is one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier.

Ideal for all ages, it has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers.

Health Walks

Uttlesford District Council promotes the well-being of residents and runs and number of free health walks taking place all over the district throughout the week

Trained leaders will be there to lead you on interesting walks through the local countryside or past places of interest. We have wide range of regular healthy walks arranged for the coming months, so why not get out in the fresh air and join us. Families are welcome but not all walks are suitable for dogs.

All you need to do is turn up ten minutes before the start. You will be required to fill in an Outdoor Health Questionnaire to initially register and to provide insurance cover.

Some routes may be grassy, muddy, slippery and uneven so please have appropriate footwear and clothing for all weather conditions.
