Hands on with history

This week a Stone Age Man set up camp in Saffron Walden Museum grounds, he demonstrated what life was like in the Stone Age; visitors completed Stone Age trails and had the opportunity to touch tools made thousands of years ago.

The activity was held to celebrate the opening of the Museum's new exhibition, Life in the Ice Age, and is part of a programme of 'Hands on with History' family fun activities taking place throughout the summer.

On 23 August children can get crafty and make their own sea creatures out of shells. They can use one of the Museum's shells or bring any that they have collected from the beach. Activities take place 11am - 1pm and 2-4pm. Normal admission charges apply and children must bring an adult. There is no need to book, just drop in.
