Residents urged to help shape plans for garden community

Residents are being given the opportunity to have their say on plans for a garden community on the Uttlesford-Braintree border.

The West of Braintree Garden Community: Issues and Options document has been prepared collaboratively between Braintree District Council and Uttlesford District Council. The document provides further information about the proposed West of Braintree Garden Community, and sets out some of the key issues that will need to be included in a more detailed masterplan for the development.

Consultation on the document is underway, and people are invited to take part using the online portal at braintree-consult.objective.co.uk/portal/negc.

The consultation closes on 22 January 2018.

Comments can also be submittedby email to planningpolicy@uttlesford.gov.uk or via post to: West of Braintree Garden Community Consultation, Planning Policy, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree CM7 9HB.

Paper copies of the Issues and Options document are available to view at Uttlesford District Council's Offices in Saffron Walden, the Customer Service desk at Great Dunmow Library, and Thaxted Community Information Centre.

A series of exhibitions are being held to support the consultation. Details are available at www.uttlesford.gov.uk/wobconsultation.

The feedback from the consultation will help to create a more defined plan for the site, which will then be subject to further public consultation next year.
