Reynolds Court: A prestigious new housing scheme

One and two bedroom rented flats will soon be available at Uttlesford District Council's flagship Reynolds Court scheme in Newport

Reynolds Court

Reynolds Court has undergone a complete rebuild over the past two years and now boasts a modern design and facilities aimed at the over 60s. The new-look development is perfect for those who want to remain living independently but would like the security offered by sheltered housing and those who may be considering downsizing from their current homes, whether they are currently council tenants, privately renting or owner occupiers.

Many of the flats have balconies and all come with a wet room and have fitted kitchens with built in ovens, fridge freezers and washer/dryers.

There is a communal lounge and garden room for socialising in, as well as a hairdressing salon and guest apartment. The flats are linked to the council's emergency call system so that help can be summoned 24 hours a day. A member of the sheltered housing team also visits the site five days a week.

Cllr Julie Redfern, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: "Housing, especially the right hind of homes, continues to be a key driver for UDC and we are absolutely delighted with the way the rebuild has gone at Reynolds Court - it is a stunning building that provides a modern and comfortable style of living for residents.

"Phase 2 is about to be complete and we would like to invite local residents, not just existing tenants, to consider it as an option if they are thinking about moving."

The one and two bed flats will shortly be advertised through the council's choice-based lettings scheme, called HomeOption. If you are not already registered on the scheme then there is still time to register - but hurry!

To make an online application please go to and follow the guidance. If you are unsure about whether you might qualify for Reynolds Court or other council sheltered housing schemes, please contact the council on 01799 510510.
