Cost of living support

Financial advice and emotional support on how you can ease the cost of living squeeze.

Dead or injured animals

What to do if you see a dead or injured animal on the road or pavement or in a public space.

You can report any dead animals you find on the road to us.

This includes wild animals like badgers and foxes, as well as domestic pets such as cats and dogs.

What we can do

We remove larger dead animals or birds if they are:

  • on the road
  • on the pavement
  • in a public space

We do not remove dead animals from:

  • gardens or private land
  • parts of roads that are difficult to get to, such as the central reservation of the A120
  • the M11

If you want to report a dead animal on the M11 you will need to call Highways England on 0300 123 5000
