I am homeless or worried about becoming homeless
If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, you should contact our Housing Options Team as soon as possible.
I want to apply for a housing association or Council house
Check if you are eligible, find out how to apply and search for available council and housing association homes.
I am looking for private rented accommodation
Most privately rented accommodation is let through letting agents and there are many across the District and surrounding areas.
I am looking for supported housing
There are several supported housing projects in the district which you can be referred to.
I am looking for short-term accommodation
Council temporary accommodation may be an option for particularly vulnerable people who we have a duty to accommodate when homeless.
I would like advice on maximising my income and paying for housing costs
You should complete a budget detailing your income and expenditure. The Housing Options Team can refer you to Citizens Advice for a financial health check. You may also use websites with a budget planner such as the Money Helper Service. These services offer free, impartial money advice.
I would like information on the help available from support services and charities
If you are in a difficult situation we recognise that it may have a huge impact in many areas of your life. It is important to be able to access all of the support available to you during these difficult times.
I am looking for information about the Sanctuary Scheme
To be eligible for the Scheme a victim/ survivor will be asked to work with us to prevent homelessness as a result of the risk to them.
