Have your say on future of Great Dunmow market and town centre

Residents and visitors to Great Dunmow are being asked for their views on the market and town centre.

Uttlesford District Council is keen to understand how the two areas can work hand-in-hand to support retail, service residents and attract more visitors to the town, and is working with market and independent retail specialists Quarterbridge to carry out a review.

As part of this, people are being encouraged to complete a short survey. The feedback will be used to help shape future plans for the market and town centre.

Cllr John Lodge, Leader of the council, said: "Our markets and towns are essential for the delivery of services and as gathering spaces for people to enjoy their leisure time and shopping, but nationally and locally they are facing 21st century challenges. We need to be positive and ready to face those challenges.

"That is why we want to hear from as many people as possible about their experiences of the market and town centre in Dunmow, in order that we can start to develop plans to ensure these spaces are meeting the needs of people of all ages, both now and into the future."

People can take part in the survey via www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/greatdunmow before the closing date of 20 January 2020. The survey should take only a few minutes to complete.

The council is also keen to hear from local businesses and is contacting them directly to get their views.
