Active travel survey reveals appetite for bike schemes in Saffron Walden
A survey to establish the appetite for setting up a bike share scheme in Saffron Walden has come to an end.
Uttlesford District Council conducted the three-month survey to assess what bike share options might work in the town, and to invite anyone who would like to get involved in supporting the idea to work with the council.
The council received more than 200 responses and would like to thank everyone for their input and comments.
The results have indicated that there is a genuine interest in a bike sharing scheme, and the Climate Change team is now in the process of looking into what options would work best for the town.
Meanwhile, the team will be hosting another 'come and try' cycle event to help boost participation.
The event is on Sunday 16 July, from 10am to 3pm, in the Market Square, Saffron Walden. Come along and join in guided bike rides led by professionals to increase your confidence on two wheels. Children are welcome but they must be able to ride for two hours at a medium pace. There are two slots - 10am to 12pm, and 1pm to 3pm.
