Bulky household waste

If you have a large item such as a piece of furniture or a fridge you wish to dispose of, we offer a chargeable Bulky Household Waste Collection Service.

Updates on our service due to Coronavirus
We will no longer be offering a bulky household waste collection service. This is to minimise non-essential contact and to free up resources to ensure waste (black bin) and recycling (green and brown bin) collections can run as normal.

What we can collect

What we can not collect

From 1 April 2019 the cost is £17.50 for up to two items and £8.75 per extra item when booked at the same time.  Payment can be made by credit/debit card.

If your items are white goods (dishwasher, oven, fridge, or any other bulky item with an electrical plug) then a charge of £17.50 will apply per item.

Electrical items

Please note that bulky electrical items are disposed of in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). Bulky non-electrical items are collected and disposed of at landfill.

If the item is in working order and/or in good condition please consider donating to charity or to one of the reuse projects operating in the county. Alternatively, you could advertise good quality items in the local paper, shops, supermarkets or on Freecycle. Make yourself some cash and sell your items at a local car boot sale or donate to friends and family.

Please help us reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill and protect our local environment.
