Free annual silver membership with Visit Essex

Uttlesford District Council (UDC) and Visit Essex are working together to provide extra help and support to the tourism and hospitality sector.

The visitor and hospitality sector is a major part of the local economy and something we would like to develop over the coming years with the Discover Uttlesford initiative.
 

The offer

As part of this partnership we would like to offer new and lapsed members of Visit Essex within the Uttlesford district a free silver membership for one year. Existing members of Visit Essex are being offered an upgrade to their membership level.

About Visit Essex

Visit Essex is not purely focused on promoting leisure and tourism via their website but on digital marketing, press and influencer trips.

During the past year Visit Essex has reached its largest growth in social media followers, a 91% increase in traffic to the Visit Essex website, won 5 marketing awards, hosted 20 press/influencer trips and over 260 media articles. Membership is at the highest it has ever been with a 95% retention rate of members.

They also offer training courses on a variety of subjects throughout the year.

In the year ahead Visit Essex will continue to increase their efforts to encourage local spend and ensure Essex is an all-year-round destination of choice for short breaks and holidays. They will be targeting those from further afield as well as the surrounding counties, alongside the London audience.

Campaigns will include food and drink, Love Local, and the Take a Break campaign launched with a SKY TV advert shown in London, Hertfordshire and the East Midlands.

Lobbying efforts continue to ensure that the industry's voice is heard at a local, regional and national level.
