Apply for the Community Grant for Play Equipment

Who can apply for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Community Grant for Play Equipment and how much funding you could get.

This scheme is open to properly constituted voluntary organisations or similar bodies in Uttlesford. 

You can apply for a grant of up to £10,000 to create new or upgrade existing play areas.

The closing date for applications is midday on Thursday 5 September 2024.
 

Before you start

You'll need to provide us with information about your project including:

  • local challenges and opportunities the project will address
  • how the project supports the delivery of net zero ambitions
  • the total project costs
  • match funding
  • estimates or quotations
  • your organisation constitution

Who can apply

The grant is available to properly-constituted voluntary organisations or similar bodies in the Uttlesford district, such as:

  • village hall committees
  • town and parish councils
  • community associations
  • play and recreation clubs and groups

What you can apply for

Play equipment must be located in an area which is freely available to all members of the community.

Priority will be given to applications that:

  • are in areas of need indicated by the Indices of Multiple Deprivation 2019 and high food bank usage
  • deliver play equipment for different ages, including teenagers
  • provide Inclusive playgrounds that ensure children of all abilities can play together
  • are in areas where transport links to more central hubs are poor or expensive

All projects must be completed before 10 March 2025.
