Information on who to contact for repairs to a council owned property, what you can expect from the council and which parts of your home you are responsible for.

Booking your repairs

From 1 April 2020 you'll see a new company, called Uttlesford Norse, taking care of your responsive repairs.

Telephone: 01799 510510 - press 5 for Housing Services and then press  2 for Uttlesford Norse
Email: repairs@uttlesfordnorse.co.uk

And we will then:
•  Send you confirmation of your repair by text or email and, for your peace of mind, send a photo of the person who will be carrying out your repair
•  Be able to offer you morning/afternoon appointments

Updates on our service due to Coronavirus

We will only be carrying out urgent or emergency council housing repairs until further notice. These include:

•  Heating and hot water
•  Water leaks
•  Electrical issues
•  Health and safety works
•  Sanitary plumbing
•  Home security issues

Non-essential repairs such as decorating, plastering, adjusting doors or non-emergency surveys will temporarily be put on hold. We are unfortunately not able to accept any new non-essential repair requests at this time.

For tenants requesting an urgent repair, please be advised that our repair customer service staff will ask if anyone in your household is self-isolating. This is to ensure we have adequate measures in place to avoid the spread of the virus and to protect our tenants, staff and contractors.

Don't forget ... ALWAYS ask for identification before you let someone into your home. All Uttlesford Norse employees and contractors carry ID and will not mind if you ask to see it. If you are still suspicious call the Council on 01799 510510.

If they cannot supply ID, DO NOT let them into your home.
