End of Life vehicles
All end of life vehicles are dealt with by the environmental services department.
The council offers a free-of-charge service for the collection of vehicles which have reached the end of the road, provided that the vehicle was used for domestic purposes and is registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to a resident of Uttlesford.
If you do not meet these criteria, it is still possible to arrange removal. However, a charge will apply.
You will need to write (enclosing the log book and details using recorded delivery) to:
Uttlesford District Council
Arrangements will be made to remove and dispose of the vehicle. We aim to do this within 14 working days.
The vehicle will need to be in a suitable location where a commercial lorry, with lifting equipment, can be parked adjacent in order to lift the vehicle on board.
Once the vehicle has been removed, the log book is sent to the DVLA to show the vehicle has been scrapped.
