MHCLG letter to Uttlesford District Council

Uttlesford District Council received confirmation that the Stansted Airport planning application will not be called in by the Secretary of State. In a letter sent on Wednesday (20 March), James Brokenshire MP, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), confirmed that the council is the right body to approve the airport's planning application and has decided not to call it in.

Description of the proposal

Airfield works comprising two new taxiway links to the existing runway (a Rapid Access Taxiway and a Rapid Exit Taxiway), six additional remote aircraft stands adjacent Yankee taxiway); and three additional aircraft stands (extension of the Echo Apron) to enable combined airfield operations of 274,000 aircraft movements and a throughput of 43 million terminal passengers, in a 12-month calendar period.
