Zero Carbon Communities Grant scheme: successful projects

Community groups across Uttlesford have been successful in applying for funding in the 3 rounds of our Zero Carbon Community Grant Scheme.                                                       

All the projects aim to:

  • reduce carbon emissions
  • increase use of solar energy
  • enhance biodiversity
  • support community engagement in climate change

Successful projects

Biodiversity restoration

Biodiversity restoration is the process of assisting the recovery of degraded ecosystems towards a natural state, aiming to increase the diversity of species and habitats, and is crucial for the health of our planet and future generations.

Solar PV

Solar PV, or photovoltaic, technology converts sunlight directly into electricity using semiconductor materials, offering a renewable and clean energy source.

Community engagement

Community engagement projects involve organizations and community collaborating to address local zero carbon issues, improve quality of life, and foster strong community bonds.

Carbon emission reduction

To reduce carbon emissions, focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, sustainable transportation, and mindful consumption, both individually and as a collective.
