Parish meetings
In addition, there are a number of parish meetings in the district. Parish meetings are held in parishes where there is no parish council.
However, every parish council must hold an annual parish meeting. The parish meeting is where local government electors of the parish have an opportunity to talk on parish matters. View our simple guide to parish meetings (PDF, 153 KB) to see the difference.
The annual parish meeting of the parish council is where a parish poll can be demanded The parish meeting of a parish council must meet annually (PDF, 148 KB) on a day between 1 March and 1 June, every year.
