Local businesses invited to take part in virtual jobs fair
Employers across Uttlesford are being invited to showcase their job opportunities at a virtual jobs fair being held next month.
The event, organised in partnership with the Essex Opportunities Portal team, is a one-stop-shop for information on employment, training and careers for residents. Previous events held in July and October were viewed by more than 9,000 residents across Essex.
Due to that success, the latest event has been planned with Uttlesford District Council, Maldon District Council and Chelmsford City Council, and will be held on Thursday 10 February, 11am to 1pm.
It is free for employers to attend and will be held on the innovative Learn Live platform. Employers will have the opportunity to record a 15-minute video to showcase their business and vacancies, which will be shown to residents during the event.
Job vacancies can be added to a virtual job board before the day and a live chat function will be enabled to talk directly to candidates. A member of staff will need to be available to facilitate this.
Cllr Neil Reeve, Uttlesford District Council's Portfolio Holder for the Economy, Investment and Corporate Strategy, said: "Connecting people looking for work with companies keen to fill vacancies is essential for the economic recovery of our district.
"Many local businesses have told us how tough recruitment has been over the last 18 months, so we are delighted to be working collaboratively with Essex Opportunities to put on a virtual jobs fair. This is a great opportunity for employers to engage directly with potential candidates in an informal manner. Now is the perfect time to support both job seekers and our business community with this event."
To register your business' interest in participating in the jobs fair, please email essex.opportunities@essex.gov.uk before 17 January.
