Free application guidance for Arts & Culture grant funding

The Cultural Engine is offering advice appointments over Zoom on Friday 18 February for any Uttlesford organisation applying for the Arts & Culture grant funding from Essex County Council.

The Arts & Cultural Fund aims to support arts, culture and creative industries across the county to 'deliver a broad and exciting range of work and activity to engage with and bring communities together'.

The deadline for grant applications is Monday 28 February 2022, with the successful grant submissions being announced at the end of March.

Bids can be for revenue projects between £2,500 and £30,000 for activity to take place in 2022-23. Full guidance can be found at Arts & Cultural Fund | Explore Essex.

The Cultural Engine is currently working with Uttlesford District Council on a baseline assessment of Culture, Creativity and the Arts in the district, to support the Local Plan process and inform the development of a Cultural Strategy.

If you are thinking of making an application to the Arts & Cultural Fund and would like to talk to The Cultural Engine about preparing an application, or about funding issues more generally, please email giles@culturalengine.org.uk or call 07765 242241 to book an individual Zoom call for up to one hour on Friday 18 February (at a time that works for you, including evenings).

Areas covered could include:

  • responding to the main questions on the application form
  • constructing a budget
  • providing supporting documents

The Cultural Engine has extensive experience of preparing applications for funding. However, this is not official guidance and support, as this can only be provided directly by Essex County Council.
