Uttlesford clubs encouraged to apply for Sports Provision Grant

A grant for sports projects is now available for clubs in Uttlesford.

Uttlesford District Council has allocated funds available over three years to enhance sports provision in the district. The budget for 2022/23 is £250,000.

The funding is aimed at sports clubs or other appropriately constituted organisations, and is for larger-scale sports projects that can enable increased community involvement and participation.

Further information about the scheme, including the eligibility criteria and how to apply, is available at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/sports-provision-grant.

The closing date for applications is 1 June 2022.

The 2022/23 scheme, which launched on 1 April, is part of a three-year grants programme to support local sports projects. Last year, £34,995 was given to Thaxted Youth Club for a new skate ramp. And in 2020/21, the council awarded £150,000 to Saffron Walden Community Football Club towards its new 3G artificial grass pitch at the County High School.
