Have your say on parking issues
Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to have their say on parking issues across the district.
Uttlesford District Council is conducting a comprehensive district-wide parking review of on-street and off-street parking to identify where issues are and how to deal with them in a more strategic way. This builds on previous work as well as ongoing conversations with town and parish councils.
As part of this, a consultation, which is being run by specialised independent consultants, gives people the opportunity to give their opinions on parking. The focus is on specific locations, such as car parks and streets, to build a picture of where parking is working well, and where there may be problems.
Cllr Richard Freeman, portfolio holder with responsibility for parking issues, said: "Parking is an important part of supporting the vitality of our towns and villages but we know it can be a source of frustration too.
"This review is about looking at the bigger picture in terms of the problems with on-street and off-street parking, and taking a strategic view to find solutions.
"If you have an issue or any ideas about parking in the district, please do let us know."
The consultation uses the map-based 'Let's Talk' platform. Visit https://letstalk.uttlesford.gov.uk/parking-review.
People can also give their views on parking issues by emailing business@uttlesford.gov.uk.
The consultation closes at 5pm on 12 June.
The information collected will be used to inform the review which will be taking place over the summer. A report on the findings will be published in the autumn.
