UDC invites organisations to submit proposals for Shared Prosperity Fund money
Organisations across Uttlesford are being invited to apply for government funding for projects and activities that seek to reduce inequalities between local communities in the district.
Uttlesford District Council has received a conditional three-year £1m allocation from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which is part of the government's levelling up agenda.
The council must develop a detailed investment plan which determines how this money will be spent to help achieve the fund's objectives. The authority is now inviting bids from organisations wishing to become delivery partners.
Cllr Petrina Lees, Leader of the Council, said: "This is an exciting opportunity to develop a collaborative and local programme that is focussed on the needs of our residents and businesses. We must make the most of this funding and ensure it is used to make a real difference for our communities.
"There are some pockets of the district where people are facing real challenges in accessing the services they need - we therefore particularly welcome bids from organisations that are delivering projects and initiatives that can help reduce these inequalities."
The council needs to submit its investment plan to government by 1 August. Bids from organisations are therefore required by no later than 2pm on Friday 1 July.
Organisations wishing to submit a project for consideration should email business@uttlesford.gov.uk to ask for a project template or if they require further support.
