Help us create a Design Code for Uttlesford
Since the summer, Uttlesford District Council has been working with the community to create a Design Code for the district.
To understand what local people would like to see in the Design Code, the council has hosted a number of community engagement events, including a series of walkabouts, regular online meetings with the Community Stakeholder Forum, and pop-up stalls at local markets and community hubs.
On Saturday 22 October, council staff were joined by a number of residents for a day of events that included a coach tour, drop-in exhibition and afternoon workshop.
The council would like to thank everyone who joined the events, stopped to talk or filled in the online surveys. The input and insight are extremely valuable in helping to develop the code.
If you haven't yet shared your views, you can still do so on the new Design Code website: https://uttlesforddesigncode.co.uk/.
There are currently two surveys: one to help the council understand what's unique about Uttlesford; the other is an opportunity to give feedback on the emerging vision for the district and the aspects of a new place that you think are most important for the code to consider
Further information about the Design Code and the process being followed in creating it is also available on the website.
