Uttlesford to Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth

Uttlesford District Council will join hundreds of other locations around the world in flying a flag for the Commonwealth at 10am on Monday, 13 March.

Cllr John Davey, the chairman of the council, will read out a message from the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, and then a specially-written affirmation before raising the Commonwealth Flag at full mast outside the Council Offices in Saffron Walden.

This will be one of more than 950 locations to be involved in the collective expression of commitment of all Commonwealth member states to democracy, development and respect for diversity.
