District By-Election - Great Dunmow South and Barnston
A District Council by-election took place on Thursday 5 January 2023 for the Great Dunmow South and Barnston Ward.
Polling took place at Barnston village hall; the United Reform Church Hall and the ET Foakes Memorial Hall in Great Dunmow from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 5 January.

16.4% turnout from 5,048 registered electorate.

Standing for election - post-election candidate requirements
The candidate (PDF) [18KB] and agent (PDF) [18KB] must by law submit a declaration with their expenditure incurred.
The spreadsheet (gi.ui.mediatype.spreadsheets) [89KB] must be completed and returned to the Proper Officer marked for the attention of the Electoral Services Manager with the Declarations by Thursday 9 February, even if it is a "nil" return.
There is no requirement in law for the Proper Officer or his team to check these, just receive them.
