Bogus HM Revenue & Customs email scam

Residents are warned to be on their guard if they receive an email from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) purporting to come via the GOV.UK website.

We have had reports of residents receiving emails that appear to be from HM Revenue & Customs and claim that a recent submission via the GOV.UK or Idox Electoral Register sites has been unsuccessful. The email then asks the recipient to click on a link to a bogus website.

You are assured that the systems that we use for registering to vote or for updates to the Register of Electors are secure.

If you have any concerns about your registering to vote or the Electoral Register you can call the Electoral Services department on 01799 510431/432 or email
