Parking ticket (PCN)
A parking ticket is also known as a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
You may receive a PCN if you park:
- in areas where loading/unloading restrictions apply
- or longer than the time paid for
- in a resident's parking space without displaying a valid permit
- in a reserved bay e.g. disabled bay, taxi rank unless authorised to do so
- in a bus stop or bus lane during the prohibited hours
- not wholly within a bay
Pay a Penalty Charge Notice
If you do park where you should not be you are likely to be issued with a PCN. The notice will explain how you can pay.
If you pay within 14 days you will only have to pay the discounted amount shown on the notice.
You can pay a PCN online.
You'll need your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) number and your vehicle registration.
Other ways to pay
You can pay using the 24 hour automated payments service on 01206 507275.
Challenge a Penalty Charge Notice
You will have two opportunities to challenge a PCN dependent upon its stage of progression.
You can find out how to challenge a Penalty Charge Notice on the NEPP website.
