Statement of Accounts 2023/24

The Statement of Accounts has been published and presents the financial results of the council's activities for the year ended 31 March 2024 and summarises the overall financial position of the council as of 31 March 2024.

2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 accounts

On 30 July 2024, Jim McMahon the Minister of State for Local Government and English Devolution announced a revised end date for audit firms to complete audits for all years up to and including 2022/23. Previously the date was 30 September 2024, the new date is 13 December 2024.

Annual Governance Statement

The Annual Governance Statement explains how the council has complied with its code of corporate governance and also meets the requirements of Regulation 6 (Part 2) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015.

The Annual Governance Statement 2023/24 (PDF, 278 KB) was approved by Audit and Standards Committee on 10 December 2024.
 

Notice for Audit Finalisation

The council has issued 3 notices to report audit completion for the years 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22.

Council accounts: update November 2024

Every council must publish audited accounts each year, and Uttlesford District Council like many other councils has not hit this annual deadline now for multiple years.

We have issued an update on the publication of the council's accounts.

Inspecting financial documents

Printed versions of the Statement of Accounts which include all of the original signatures may be inspected at the Council Offices in Saffron Walden. Ideally anyone wishing to do so should give 24 hours notice.
