Cycling in Uttlesford
Cycling is a low-impact, aerobic activity, which means it is easier on your joints than running, and what's more, your heart, blood vessels and lungs all get a workout too.
For health benefits, adults should do at least 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) of moderate-intensity activity each week.
Children and young people should do at least an hour (60 minutes) of moderate to vigorous intensity activity every day.
A 30-minute ride will count towards your recommended weekly activity target.
Uttlesford is a largely rural district, which can make it harder to get about on bicycle. However, there are some lovely cycle routes that can be enjoyed as part of a leisure activity or as part of your commute.
If you're new to cycling or would like to brush up on your skills, Bikeability is here to help.
