Private hire operator
An individual or limited company who wishes to licence one or more vehicle can apply for an Uttlesford District Council Private Hire Operator Licence. The maximum grant of an operator's licence is five years and the minimum is six months. The operator licence will only be granted for the time period that your lease/rental agreement is for.
How to apply
We will only accept valid and complete applications. This means that all required documentation must be sent together in one single email to licensing@uttlesford.gov.uk
If any of the required documents are not received within the email we will reject the application and refund any monies paid.
Our aim is to issue licences within 28 days of the full application having been received. If you do not receive your licence within this time period please contact us as there may be a reason for the delay.
You will need:
- A base/office located within the district (proven by lease/rental agreement)
- A basic DBS check (enhanced if you wish to also become a licensed driver)
- Companies House or LTD registration (if applicable)
Pay
The payment for the licence should also be made upon application.
