Review to get underway following waste collection disruption

A review will be carried out following the recent disruption to Uttlesford District Council's waste collection service.

A small cross-party group of members will look at the events that led to the issues with waste collections in late January and early February, and how the council responded. It will also consider more widely whether the lessons learned can be applied to other services so residents do not experience similar disruption again.

The group will be joint chaired by Cllr Chris Criscione and Cllr Bianca Donald. They said: "We know residents and businesses rely on the waste collection service and understand why there has been so much frustration.

"It is important the council learns from this incident - this review will begin the process of identifying improvements in the waste collection and other services to make them more resilient and ensure issues like this do not happen in future."

The first meeting of the group will be on Tuesday 12 March at 7.30pm. It is anticipated a final report will be presented to Scrutiny Committee and full Council in April.
