Help for those struggling to pay their Council Tax

Uttlesford District Council has a financial assistance scheme to help residents who are struggling to pay their Council Tax bill due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

The Cost-of-living Support Fund is there to help those who are not able to improve their circumstances in the short term. The scheme is available to help towards the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial year bills.

In order to qualify for help from the scheme, residents must be occupying a property within the district as their main home and be liable for the Council Tax bill. They must also provide supporting evidence of how their household has been negatively affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

Full details and the online application form can be found at www.uttlesford.gov.uk/cost-of-living-support-fund.

Residents who need assistance in completing the form can contact the council on 01799 510510 to arrange an appointment. You can also get in touch with us using alternative methods via our contact us page.
