Round Table make donation to sheltered scheme

Alan Hasler House in Great Dunmow has received a donation from the Great Dunmow & District Round Table for a new hot water boiler.

The Uttlesford District Council-run sheltered housing scheme is home to 30 residents who share a communal space. The £500 donation will be used to ensure they have hot water on tap for refreshments.

This is not the first time Alan Hasler House has benefitted from the generosity of the Round Table, having previously received a donation towards repairing the last boiler and for a Jubilee party.

Jean Overton, the sheltered housing officer, said: "The residents at Alan Hasler House are very thankful once again for the generous donation from the Round Table. They can now enjoy a hot beverage without having to use kettles."

Round Table chairman Tai Daly said: "Great Dunmow Round Table has been part of the Dunmow community for over 60 years.  As an organisation created primarily to support young men socially, and provide an environment in which to learn, develop, and serve their community, it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to support local institutions.

"We have a history of supporting Alan Hasler House alongside schools, local charities, and individuals.  We hope the new boiler makes daily life easier for the residents of Alan Hasler House for many years to come"
