Find out more about Local Plan at consultation events

A series of public events will be held so that residents can find out more about the draft Uttlesford Local Plan consultation and how they can take part.

The drop-in events will give people the opportunity to ask Uttlesford District Council's planning policy team any questions they have about the plan, which will guide where homes and employment sites will go as well as the infrastructure that is needed to support it. The team will also be able to assist anyone who would like to submit a representation.

The events are on:

·       Monday 2 September, 5pm to 8pm - Ugley Village Hall

·       Wednesday 4 September, 5pm to 8pm - Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow

·       Monday 9 September, 5pm to 8pm - Saffron Walden Town Hall

·       Tuesday 10 September, 5pm to 8pm - Priors Green Community Hall, Takeley

The local plan consultation runs until 5pm on Thursday 3 October. People are invited to give their views on its legal compliance and what is referred to as the 'soundness' of the plan - this relates to whether it meets the requirements set out in national policy, guidance and legislation.

The quickest and easiest way to read the draft plan and to provide feedback is via the website: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.

As well as commenting online, responses can be submitted by email or post using a form which is available from the district council and local libraries. Responses should be sent by email to: localplan@uttlesford.gov.uk or by post to: Local Plan Team, Uttlesford District Council, London Road, Saffron Walden CB11 4ER.

Paper copies of the plan are available to view at the district council's offices in Saffron Walden, local libraries and from parish councils.

More information about the plan is available at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.
