Two weeks left to have your say on Draft Local Plan

Uttlesford District Council is encouraging residents to comment on the latest version of a draft local plan which will guide where homes and employment sites will go in the district, as well as the infrastructure that is needed to support it.

There are just two weeks left for people to give their views on what is referred to as the 'soundness' of the plan - this relates to whether it meets the requirements set out in national policy, guidance and legislation.

Cllr John Evans, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: "There are only two weeks remaining of this consultation and this is the final opportunity for people to add their comments before the plan is sent to the Planning Inspectorate for examination. I am urging everyone who wishes to contribute their views for consideration by the Planning Inspectorate to get involved and have their say on these draft proposals."

The quickest and easiest way to read the draft plan and to provide feedback is via the website: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.

As well as commenting online, responses can be submittedby email or post using a form which is available from the district council and local libraries. Responses should be sent by email: localplan@uttlesford.gov.uk or by post: Local Plan Team, Uttlesford District Council, London Road, Saffron Walden CB11 4ER.

Paper copies of the plan are available to view at the district council's offices in Saffron Walden and at local libraries. Parish councils have been provided with copies and a briefing to be able to assist members of the public.

The consultation closes at 11.59pm on Monday 14 October.

The plan and supporting documents, along with the comments received in this consultation, will be sent to the Secretary of State later this year for examination.

More information about the plan is available at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.
