Cost of living support

Financial advice and emotional support on how you can ease the cost of living squeeze.

Climate change programming at Saffron Walden Museum

The Climate and Ecology Hub is a place to learn about climate change and the natural world, where to find wildlife in Uttlesford and get top tips on recycling in your area.

The latest addition to Saffron Walden Museum's permanent displays helps bring climate change into focus and shines a spotlight on local people and groups doing their bit to help nature and wildlife across the district.

Family-friendly displays explain the science of global warming and how our modern life contributes to climate change, as well as suggesting smalls ways we can all be part of the solution.

Charge your phone and shine a light on renewable electricity with our pretend wind turbine made from an old unicycle, and dive into nature poetry, beautiful illustrations and Essex nature reserves in the mini library.

The display is built entirely from re-used materials, and the new text panels were printed within walking distance to eliminate carbon emissions from delivery.

The area will continue to evolve with information on local recycling points for difficult items like batteries and makeup, as well as new flip-book pages highlighting local groups maintaining nature reserves, wild spaces and traditional crafts across Uttlesford.
