Dates announced for independent examination of Uttlesford Local Plan
The dates have been announced for the independent examination of Uttlesford District Council's Draft Local Plan.
Planning Inspectors Guy Davies and William Cooper have been appointed by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government to carry out the examination, which will determine whether the plan is 'sound' and complies with all the legal and procedural requirements.
As part of that process, a number of hearing sessions will be held, from 10 June to 19 June, with three reserve days of 29, 30 and 31 July, should matters not be completed during the scheduled two weeks in June.
Cllr John Evans, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: "After Council agreed in December to submit the Local Plan to the Planning Inspectorate, I'm very pleased to be able to announce that the Inspectors have scheduled a public examination to begin.
"This is a significant milestone in our Local Plan progress, reflecting years of dedicated work. I want again to extend my heartfelt thanks to the officers and councillors for their unwavering commitment and effort in bringing us to this pivotal moment. We look forward to supporting the Inspectors in their examination work in every way we can."
