Equality information and the Equality Duty
We are pleased to publish its Equality Information as required by the Public Sector Equality Duty.
Each year we publish updated equality information and a revised Equality Duty.
The council is committed to equality of opportunity in our approach to service delivery, employment and being a community leader. We are committed to identifying, understanding and eliminating all barriers that prevent access to services, information and employment.

Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)
The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) which is part of the Equality Act 2010 says that public bodies, such as Uttlesford District Council, must aim to:
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
