We're supporting Active Essex's programme to help everyone to get out and be more active.
Being more physically active:
- is a great way to enhance our well-being - even a short burst of 10 minutes of brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood
- can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety
So, whether it's getting out in the garden, a short walk, a social bike ride, some light stretching, a friendly game of football or a visit to your local leisure centre, the benefits of increasing daily movement will soon show, and have a really positive impact on your health and wellbeing.

Find an activity near you
You may need support or encouragement to get active, which is why Find Your Active is encouraging every community to have an ambassador to champion movement and help you find the activity that is right for you.
You can use the activity finder on the Active Essex website to help you discover the physical activity and sport opportunities that are available near you.
There is also advice on how to get started if you are not quite sure which activities may be suitable for you.

Find health and wellbeing
Taking care of our mental health is so important. Making simple changes to how you live doesn't need to cost a fortune or take up loads of time. It's important to talk to other people and voice your feelings.
Active Essex have a number of heath and wellbeing activities for you to try from mindful sessions to Tai Chi.
Become an ambassador
The Find Your Active ambassadors are all supporters of the Find Your Active campaign. They are helping to promote physical activity opportunities available in your local communities and support you in finding the activity that is right for you.
You can find you local Active ambassador on the Active Essex website or you can volunteer to join them to help others in your community.
