The scheme helps you choose where to eat out or shop for food by giving you clear information about the businesses' hygiene standards. We run the scheme in partnership with the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

You can check the rating of a food business in Uttlesford on the Food Standards Agency website.
 

How it works

Following inspection, a food hygiene rating score of between 0* to 5* is awarded and this is published on the Food Standards Agency website for consumers to see. Food businesses can display this score and there are appeal processes for food premises to use if they feel the rating is unfair.
