Stansted Airport: Sound Insulation Grant scheme
London Stansted's enhanced sound insulation grant scheme can provide funding to help deal with excessive aircraft noise.
You can apply for funding from London Stansted Airport to install acoustic insulation in your property if you are affected by aircraft noise.
About the grant
The grant can be used to fund acoustic insulation for buildings that are exposed to medium to high levels of noise (57dBA Leq or more).
What you can apply for
The grant will pay for insulation to reduce noise such as:
- double glazing
- mechanical ventilation
- loft insulation
Households subject to high levels of noise (69dBA Leq or more) can also apply for funding to help with with the cost of relocating.
Eligibility
The scheme offers support to those who experience the greatest noise impact.
Stansted Airport have published a plan showing the areas within which grant awards are available.
There are 4 levels of grant:
- Zone A - up to £5,000
- Zone B - up to £8,000
- Zone C - up to £10,000
- Zone D - up to £10,000
For households subject to the highest levels of noise (Zone D) Stansted Airport will also provide assistance with the costs of relocating.

To complete this form you will need to provide your:
- name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- if you are a tenant or not the owner, you'll need to provide contact details for the owner of the property
