VE and VJ Day 80

2025 will mark the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Day on 8 May and 15 August.

It will be an opportunity for the nation to come together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation from across the UK and Commonwealth, through a series of national and local events and activities.

Victory in Europe (VE Day), which takes place on 8 May, marks the Allied victory in Europe. The war in the Far East did not end until 15 August 1945 with VJ Day (Victory Over Japan).

Find out more on the official VE and VJ Day site.
