Thaxted Neighbourhood Plan referendum
A referendum took place on Thursday 24 January 2019 to decide whether the Neighbourhood Plan for Thaxted should be used to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
Result of the referendum
In response to the question, "Do you want Uttlesford District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Thaxted to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?", the votes were:
Spoilt papers: 1
The total votes cast were 897. The turnout was just over 35%.
The council's Cabinet on 12 February made a recommendation to Council that the Thaxted Neighbourhood Plan is formally 'made' as part of the statutory development plan for the District.

- The Thaxted Neighbourhood Plan Decision statement of the Local Authority's satisfaction that the referendum version Neighbourhood Plan meets the basis conditions specified by statute and complies with the provision made by or under Section 38A and 38B of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
