Safeguarding children
Information for anyone who is concerned that a child or young person may be at risk of abuse or neglect.
Section 11 of the Children Act (2004), Places a duty to make "arrangements to safeguard and promote welfare" on a range of agencies, including District Council's. This includes making arrangements to ensure that all council functions are discharged having regard to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children.
Report a concern about a child
If you are concerned that a child or young person is being harmed or neglected you can report a concern about a child on the Essex County Council site.
⚠ If you are worried that there is an immediate risk of harm to a child then you should contact Essex Police.
